Read aloud comprehension is the ability to comprehend a passage or text that has been read aloud. It is important that students understand what they read because it will aid them throughout their educational careers in all subject areas. This skill also helps them to learn to communicate efficiently with others. |
Close reading comprehension
This survey is an informal assessment used to determine student reading comprehension after they have listened to a story being read aloud. The target ages are five to eight and the time required is twenty-five to thirty minutes. The students will listen to the story, "Duck and Goose," by Tad Hills, and complete page nine, which is included in the assessment. The students will be required to explain how duck and goose became friends using details from the text.

Read Aloud comprehension

The students will listen to the story, and complete page twenty-four in the assessment, which requires the students to answer comprehension questions. The assessment includes an answer key to determine what student answers should contain.
